Bic are a major European SUP brand, known for producing affordable performance hard and inflatable SUPs. The 2018 Performer 10 6 is a great addition to the range.
The 2018 board fits the traditional rounded Allround shaping with some subtle deviations. There is a slightly more elongated style that sits between touring nose and the traditional rounded shaping. The result is an decent tracking and glide but still falls short against sleeker Allround boards. The traditional manoeuvrability remains. and it handles small chop pretty well.
The board is a single skin which makes it less robust than most of the Allround boards we tested. You also have to buy the paddle separately which increases the cost.
A good Allround iSUP which would suit beginners who are looking for is stable and steady paddle.
A good Allround board which will suit most beginners and help paddlers progress.
Tracking and glide are better than most traditional shaped Allround boards but it isn't a match for sleeker styled boards. The on-water feel is good and it responds well in flat and slightly choppier conditions. Manoeuvrability is good and it's playful enough to catch waves easily enough.
Expect to pay £749 (without paddle).
As with all the boards reviewed in 2018, the Bic Performer 10 6 is manufactured at one of the World's top iSUP factories. We can therefore guarantee the materials, accessories and manufacturing processes are of the highest quality.
The board has a single layer construction with double layered rails. This results in a stiff light weight (9kg) board but it's not as robust as the other boards included in our reviews.
The Bic Performer 106 has a 2 + 1 fins set-up.
This is our preferred Allround fin set-up as it is the most compatible against Allround category performance expectations. The central fin is an 8" screw plate fin which fits in to a standard US Fin Box.
The Bic Performer 10 6 comes with a Bic branded 2 way pump. As with most pumps on the market, it's manufactured by Bravo (version 4) and inflates the board easily and quickly. In our experience the Red Paddle Titan is the only hand pump currently included in iSUP packages which out performs the Bravo SUP 4.
The bag is a hardwearing wheeled back pack. Suitable for travel and general storage. Little to differentiate from most similar wheeled iSUP bags.
It doesn't come with a paddle but an aluminium 3 pcs paddle can be bought separately for approx. £80
